The Octavius Barossa Old Vine Shiraz
Shiraz 1996- Vintage quality: 1996 was a perfect growing season and this wine is destined to be one of the all time great Octavius'.
- Cellar guide: 10+ Years
- Last tasted: 2000, Kevin Glastonbury, Winemaker
- Notes: Inky purple/black in colour with incredibly youthful hues. The nose displays very powerful primary fruit, stewing plums and tarry liquorice notes followed by a rich, sweet, coffee, and chocolate oak background. The palate is firm, focused and chewy with multiple layers of complexity. This is a brooding wine that will develop into one of the all time greats.
