Rich plum pudding, chocolate and baked custard aromas leading into a balanced palate offering mellow blackberry, spice and developed flavours. A very robust, full-bodied wine with good persistence.
Cherry aromas backed by a hint of spice and a subtle oak influence. Light-bodied in the mouth, showing simple cherry and chocolate flavours of moderate intensity and complexity with a firm acid backbone that adds freshness to the softly textured palate.
Deep tawny brown in colour. The soft, developed aromas have a mature fruit note and underlying meaty accents. Sweet, earthy flavours evolve in the mouth with a liquorice all-sorts character. The finish carries a tarry oak note with good tannin structure still showing.
A volatile lift to the bouquet with developed fruit characters showing plenty of age. Shows a bitter almond/aldehyde note on the palate accompanied by strong vanillin accents. Finishes with firm, chewy tannin and moderate persistence.
