Autumn is just days away and South Australia’s biggest culinary festival, Tasting Australia, has released an indulgent program of lunches, masterclasses and events across its 10-day program in May.
We are delighted to once again be the festival's major wine partner in 2022 and are excited to be hosting the iconic Melbourne restaurant Chin Chin at the winery for one of the highlights of the festival program.
Led by Chef Ben Cooper, the Chin Chin team will make themselves at home from 6-8 May serving their famous South East Asian cuisine alongside Yalumba Barossa wines. The weekend festivities include Yalumba x Chin Chin pop up restaurant. The three events SOLD OUT before the program event went to print! But don’t despair! If you missed out on the restaurant tickets, we have the Yalumba x Chin Chin GoGo Lawns popping up all weekend.
We invite you to settle in on the GoGo lawns, with each ticket includes four Chin Chin bar snacks – a Banh Mi, Chin Chin Crispy Wings, Spanner Crab Sandwich and a Butter Chicken Pie - a glass of Yalumba wine and a Riedel wine glass to take home. Sessions run for five hours and guests are welcome to set their own itineraries and enjoy food, drinks and live entertainment from the lush Yalumba lawns.
Adelaide’s Victoria Square will once again be transformed in the Tasting Australia Town Square, where people can wander in and enjoy a range of food and wines by the glass.
Yalumba will feature in the Town Square Kitchen on Saturday night 30 April for Fire & Ferment, where top chefs Adam Wolfers of Gerard’s Bistro, Rosheen Kaul of Melbourne's Etta and Restaurant Botanic whiz Justin James, will come together to prepare a special feast matched with a selection of our Rare & Fine wines.
The following Saturday, 7 May, we will be back for the Great Shiraz Dinner. A must for Shiraz lovers, with dinner prepared by the very talented Dave Pynt of Burnt Ends, Annie Smithers of Du Fermier and Maxwell Wines head chef Fabian Lehmann.
Increase your wine knowledge with the ever popular Masterclass series. Our talented winemakers will be involved in fun and engaging sessions, where you can taste and learn from the best. Join Sam Wigan for The Grenache Clash or Louisa Rose for Riesling All Stars on 30 April, Peter Caldwell for Pinot & Place on 7 May, Kevin Glastonbury for Super Claret on 7 May and Robert Hill-Smith for Bordeaux to Bolgheri on 7 May.
Up for a Monday dinner that’s anything but ordinary? Pie not! The Lion Hotel will explore the delicious possibilities of pie, with Yalumba wines to match at Pie Life on 2 May.
Don’t delay! Tickets are selling fast and we look forward to seeing you there.
