 | The 2002 vintage was indeed exceptional. The weather remained mild and dry over a long and even ripening period, with the lowest temperatures on record experienced in February. This resulted in wines with great colour, varietal flavour and intensity.
Ripe and supple and loaded with savoury spices, Yalumba Galway Traditional Shiraz 2002 offers aromas of leathery berries, with hints of white pepper, cloves, sage and bay leaf. Earthy and funky tones, with dusty blackberry fruits and anise flavours, offer distinction and persistence on the palate and lead into a plump finish of chunky tannins.
A complex, refined wine which offers depth and richness - great to drink now through to 2006.
