Early January rain caused some initial concern in the lead-up to vintage 2005. However in January the skies cleared, which allowed the canopies to dry out before fruit was harvested; the rain having had no impact on fruit quality. The rest of the Summer remained warm and dry. Fruit flavours developed later this year but patience was rewarded with excellent fruit flavours and fine tannin structure in the final wine.
The wine exhibits sweet spicy plum fruit with hints of spice, peppercorn and oak complexity. A medium weight wine with soft round tannins and a lingering finish.
