Tasting is an experience to be enjoyed. It's a chance to try before you purchase, and to further educate your own palate, whether you are an experienced wine connoisseur or if you're only just beginning to learn about the wonders of wine.
"Yalumba is one of the most beautiful wineries in Australia. With magnificent buildings and beautifully manicured gardens and lawns, this is a place to savour. Established in 1849, Yalumba is the oldest family-owned winery in Australia, and the current custodians have done a marvellous job in maintaining, and in many cases improving, this special place.
The cellar door itself has a great setting, housed in one of the original stone buildings. Try the stunning reds, The Signature and The Octavius. Yalumba has an uncanny ability to employ the nicest people in the Valley so you can be assured of great service."
Stuart Gregor, Australian Good Taste Magazine, October 2001
The Yalumba Wine Room is an inviting environment, offering guests an opportunity to taste and learn about the premium wines from Yalumba. The Wine Room building was once Yalumba's Brandy Bond store and reflects the true authenticity of this 150-year old winery. Family history and artwork adorn the walls, an open fireplace creates a warm and cosy environment during the crisp Barossa winter days and the friendly and educated staff can guide you through Yalumba's comprehensive collection of fine wines.
Yalumba offer an exceptional range of wine styles from a small handful of unique growing regions of South Australia. Experience the heady delights of Viognier, an exotic white wine originating from the Rhône Valley in France, and a specialty of Yalumba. Get a true taste of the Barossa and discover what old vine Shiraz or Grenache is all about. Unearth the marvels of the traditional Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz blend. Understand why Eden Valley is one of the best places to grow Riesling. Try unique wine styles that are emerging in Australia, such as Marsanne, Tempranillo and Sangiovese Rose. Compare wines from not only Barossa, but from other wine growing regions such as Adelaide Hills, and Wrattonbully and Coonawarra in the Limestone Coast. Discover how wild fermentation and Burgundian clones can make Chardonnay anything but boring. Savour the velvety plushness of Merlot. Satisfy that sweet tooth with sumptuous late harvest wines and find out why a cool-climate premium Sparkling wine is the only way to celebrate.
We're also able to freight wine for free throughout Australia when you purchase a closed case of Yalumba wine.
