"A request from UK retailers saw the creation of Yalumba's small portfolio of three organic wines, through delivering such quality at a modest price has caused wider ripples of interest. Sourced from the Barich family's vineyard at Loxton, which has practised organic viticulture since 1997 and been a regular supplier to Yalumba, this fruit was deemed good enough to be handled and marketed separately to Yalumba's other Riverland intake. It boasts the sort of flavour profile and more supple texture you would expect from cooler climates - soft, spicy plum flavours, avoiding big, jammy ripeness to instead present a more slender, restrained structure. Currently only available in tiny quantities due to the limited fruit supply, this wine's quality's not only inspiring other Riverland growers to embrace organics but also has Yalumba proprietor Robert Hill Smith considering a greater organic commitment."
